Take a look at a few of my projects that I have undertaken.

France...

This was my largest and most enjoyable project. It involved onboarding a large aqusition in France to our IT systems and involved numerous visits.

It involved me visiting the head office and their warehouse to perform a survey and gain an understanding on what they currently used and required and how I would ensure this was carried over to our systems.

The onboarding involved me architecting a design for compute, storage and backup onsite which server file, print, local applications and sccm for imaging in europe. Europe imaging was a must due to Brexit. I also worked on ensuring the UPS estate at both the head office and warehouse was documented, updated and onboarded into our usual monitoring.

DEVOPS...

This is more of a collation of numerous pieces of work I have carried out from my own self assigned projects. I identified issues within the enviroment and designed a solution that is supportable by our team.

In short, I utilised automation tooling within our monitoring platform and built custom intergrations using powershell so it was natively supportable by our Infrastructure Team.

This scripting involved me communicating with what we desired via API, manipulating the data in such a way so when it is sent to the monitoring platform in dynamically and automatically creates monitoring items and triggers. This dramatically cut down our overhead with deploying monitoring manually, waiting for other 3rd parties to build custom intergrations or investing time and money into onboarding new software in the enviroment.

I also piped this to visulisation platform to provide us better metrics and this data allows us to build custom reporting on what we actually want.

Cybersecurity - AD/Entra Hardening

One of my most memorable times was working with leading cybersecurity companies to stengthen our security posture. This was due to the people I met and what we achieved.

Now I am unable to delve to much into this one for obvious reasons but it involved onboarding new tooling to allow us to see what what was capable of lateral movement and the blast radious of objects without on identity enviroment. In addition to this, i worked on implementing fixes based from Critcal to Low of predefined indicators of exposures.

Aquisition Onboarding

This project included the onboarding of a small aquistion. This company dealt in high end outdoor goods.

My work included the standardisation of endpoint devices (laptops, mobiles), migration of email from one platform to the 365 platform and onboarding of the public domain.

Backup Repository Upgrades

This project involved me investigating new ways to improve our backup infrastructure and ensure it's follows the guide lines out lined in security frameworks put in place by our cybersecurity team.

The end result was immutable hardened storage with upgraded hardware to allow increased bandwidth reaching speeds of over 2gbs.
